Open Call for Architecture Competition

Существуют области вне земли и неба. Им есть место и в них есть место. Но для чего? Снуют ли там мириады существ или же медленно проплывает единственное в своем роде собрание? И самое главное – что позволяет там разместиться?

Мы предлагаем задачу создания загробной архитектуры.

Всюду после существа - присутствующие, отсутствующие, колеблющиеся. Не будем ограничиваться полуживыми субъектами. Будем вовлекать различность. Чтобы раскрыть тему послесуществования, нужно принять во внимание мёртвых, живущих в мирах, живущих между мирами, полумёртвых и полуживых. Поэтому упоминания покойников, помимо дани памяти, появляются тут только в ряду примеров восприятия (и удовлетворения) метафизической потребности в последствиях. Смысл работы не в показном инакомыслии (в его сугубо негативном смысле) и не в агрессивном покорении других миров. Нас интересует соотношение неопознанных существ, миров и мировоззрений, а также связанные с этим формообразования, которые возможно привнесут движительный процесс в чьё-то будущее.

There are regions beyond earth and heaven. They have a place and there is room for them. But for what? Are there myriads of beings scurrying about, or is there a one-of-a-kind gathering slowly floating by? And most importantly, what makes it possible to be housed there?

We propose the task of making an afterlife architecture.

Everywhere after being(s) - present, absent, fluctuating. Let's not confine ourselves to half-living subjects. We will embrace differences. To unfold the theme of after-existence, we must take into account the dead, those living in worlds, those living between worlds, the half-dead and the half-living. Therefore, references to the dead, apart from tributes to memory, appear here only as examples of the perception (and fulfilment) of the metaphysical need for consequences. The point of the work is not ostentatious dissent (in its purely negative sense) or the aggressive conquest of other worlds. We are interested in the relations of unidentified beings, worlds and worldviews, and the associated formations that will possibly inject a propulsive process into futures.

Задача конкурсных исследований – не обустройство последующей жизни, не расширение принципов земного комфорта на призраков, а изобретение структур загробности самой по себе.


The task of the competition research is not an arrangement of afterlive(s), nor the extension of the principles of earthly comfort to ghosts, but the devising of the structures of the afterlife itself.

Предлагаемые на конкурс работы должны исследовать загробность в свете двух основных вопросов (1) Что это за место? (ландшафт, материя и материал загробности) (2) Как оно устроено? (цели и функции предлагаемых решений).
На конкурс принимаются работы, выполненные людьми и для людей.
Конкурс открыт для представителей всех религий, культов и убеждений. Не исключая, впрочем, тех, кто хотел бы исследовать вполне определенный вид потустороннего.

Мы предлагаем, но не ограничиваем, использовать или исключать все чувства присущие реальному миру. Но задаем вопрос как эти чувства могут работать в совокупности с предметными практиками человеческой жизнедеятельности:
(1) Вкусы загробности
(2) Образы загробности
(3) Звуки загробности
(4) Запахи загробности
(5) Трогания загробности

Мы приглашаем к участию художников, архитекторов, поэтов, переворачивателей пингвинов и других представителей.
Участвовать могут все заинтересованные лица старше 18 лет.
Один участник или коллектив может прислать только 1 работу.

На конкурс допускаются всевозможные летальные объекты: чертежи, рисунки, картины, макеты, образы, тексты. Все, что позволит расширить исследование и документирование загробности.



Submissions to the competition should explore the afterlife in light of two main questions (1) What is this place? (the landscape, fabric, and material of the afterlife) (2) How is it organised? (the purposes and functions of the proposed solutions).
The competition is open to works made by and for people.
The competition is open to people from all religions, cults and beliefs.
Not excluding those who would like to explore a very specific kind of afterworldliness.

We suggest, but do not restrict, the use or exclusion of all senses that are inherent in the real world. However, we question how these senses can work in conjunction with the practices of after life:
(1) Tastes of the afterlife
(2) Images of the afterlife
(3) Sounds of the afterlife
(4) Smells of the afterlife
(5) The touches of the afterlife

We welcome artists, architects, poets, penguin flippers and other representatives to participate.
All interested individuals over the age of 18 are eligible.
One participant or collective can submit only 1 work.

All kinds of afterlife objects are allowed for the contest: drawings, drawings, paintings, models, images, texts.
Anything that allows to expand the research and documentation of afterlives.
